Buying Solutions and the Disposal Services Agency (DSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the services of each organisation and the benefits of joined up Government.
Cradle to Grave Service
The Disposals Services Agency (DSA) is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defence, and provides the largest disposal operation of its kind in the UK.
It provides a fully managed service for the disposal of surplus material that encompasses the entire Government inventory, including but with the exception of land, buildings and nuclear related material:
- Furniture and domestic products
- IT Equipment
- Vehicles and spares
- Pharmaceuticals, medical and dental equipment
- Petrol, oils and lubricants
- Plant, machinery and consumables
The DSA also offers Special Waste Disposal and Recycling services for
- Lead-Acid Batteries
- Silver Recovery
- Rubber (tyres and miscellaneous)
- Fluorescent Tubes and Lamps

Toner and Inkjet Cartridges
Compliance
All of this is done in compliance with the law and the DSA contracts operate in line with Health, Safety, Duty of Care and Environmental Protection legislation.
