Public Sector Travel Forum

Public Sector Travel Forum

The Strategic Travel Forum was established in September 2004. The formation of this group has brought together the biggest spending and most influential procurers of business travel within the extended public sector. This senior forum has been tasked with addressing strategic development of a wide range of matters related to the public sector business travel, delivering in a way that realises the objectives of the Government's efficiency and sustainability agenda.

As part of the work on reform of public procurement the Strategic Travel Forum will continue to look at ways to enhance the strategic management of the supply market, delivering incremental savings through identifying cross-departmental opportunities. It is believed that this will be achieved through improved collaboration including wider aggregation of public demand and consistent application of best practice procurement processes.

This forum is chaired by Stephen Heard, Director of Customer Relations at OGCbuying.solutions and meetings are held three to four times a year. Amongst other matters regular standing agenda items include - sustainable travel choices and considerations, opportunities for increased pan public sector working, best practice travel policy and latest industry intelligence updates.
