back to Office Solutions Home Page
The new Recycled printing Paper framework agreement became operative on 1st September 2005 and is a continuation of the existing Department for Transport (DfT) framework agreement which has been instrumental in stimulating the market for the production of recycled paper.
The Department for Transport (DfT) and Buying Solutions will be working closely together to ensure the success of this new framework agreement. The DfT is the contracting authority for the new framework and will take the role of Agreement Manager focusing on supplier and contractual related management.
Buying Solutions will take the role of User Manager, focusing on all customer related matters. We will take an active role in promoting the framework agreement to central government and the wider public sector. Our aim is to contribute to the objectives of the government Efficiency Review and to meet the environmental objectives of the Waste Strategy 2000 Initiative and Sustainable Procurement Agenda. This will be done with the support of the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP)
The aim of the new framework agreement is to promote, develop and further expand the market to meet the demands for recycled paper used by central government departments and the wider public sector for publicity, campaign print material, publications and printed stationery.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of public sector customers, the framework agreement allows requirements to be called off quickly and offers recycled papers for a range of uses. The scope of the new offering includes:
- Matt/Silk coated sheets and reels
- Gloss coated sheet and reels
- White uncoated sheet and reels
- Uncoated tinted sheets and reels
The minimum recycled content is now 50% for coated and uncoated printing papers and 70% for copier paper.
